Sunshine Gottfriedson is Secwepmc, Okanagan and St'at'imc and resides in Montana, but was born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.

Sunshine graduated from Simon Fraser University with a B.A. in Political Science and finished the Pre-Law Summer Institute for Indians the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Sunshine is now attending the University of Montana School of Law.
